**1) Anna divided 5/6 by 1/2 and stated that the quotient is 5/12.**

**a) What was Anna`s mistake?**

**b) What is the correct quotient. Use a diagram to show how you know.**

a) She did it wrong because she had multiplied the 5 by the 1 and the 6 by the 2 instead of doing the reciprocals

b)

__5__x

__2__=

__10__

6 1 6

-----------------

__1__x

__2__

2 1

**4) a) Does 2 1/2 divided by 1 1/2 equal 1 1/2 divided by 2 1/2?**

**b) if the quotients an part a) are not equal, how are they related**

2 1/2 and 1 1/2 are improper so you have to make them proper fractions.

So 2 1/2 = 5/2 AND 1 1/2 = 3/2

Those are the proper fractions.

so you go 5/2 DIVIDED by 3/2 and you multiply 3/2 by 2/3 because you need to make a reciprocal.

and what you do to that side you also multiply 5/2 x 2/3 = 10/6 OR 1 2/3

**9) Divide.**

**a)**

__3__**4**

b) 1 2/3 divided by 2 5/6

c) 12 divided by 3/4

My Test Corrections

# 2. 1/4 + 5/8

2/8 + 5/8 =

**7/8**

#9. (the first question with the chart.)

5/6 x 1/2 =

**5/12**

the question for that equation is What is 1/2 of 5/6?

Good Job! you put effort into this and it shows but you should add pictures and videos.

ReplyDeleteGood Job ! Your pictures are nice. Next time you should add pictures/diagrams and show how you got the answer.

ReplyDeleteGood job Nikita! I like how you showed your work as to how you got your answers. Next time, you can improve by adding pictorial representations.
