Standard form is basically the same with out the brackets, but if its a positive number only put one positive symbol, not two but one.
(-2) + (+3)
(-4) + (-3)
(+1) + (+9)
(-) is the negative sign, so when you see that symbol beside the number it will be a negative number.
(+) is the positive sign, so when you see that symbol beside the number it will be a positive number.
I like the way you used integer chips and number lines to make it easier to understand how you got the answer. I like how you used words to explain things to us too! Good job Joel.
