Riah's Subtracting Integers Scribe Post Range (-99)-(+99) Worksheet (D)
If you have a larger number you might want to put the integers on a number line instead of tiles. In order to be able to show removing integers on a number line you need to change the integer behind the negative sign into the opposite so for example (-95) - (+15) = (-95) + (-15)= (-110)
(-37) - (-13)
standard form
-37 - (-13)
(-30) - (-10)
standard form
-30 - (-10)
(+24) - (-83)
standard form
+24 - (-83)
(-7) - (+75)
standard form
-7 - 75
(-35) - (+98)
standard form
-35 - 98

Madelaine's Subtracting Integer Scribepost
Integer Subtraction; Worksheet C
3 questions from the first column
(+1)-(-2)=
positive 1 remove negative 2
Standard Form
+1--2
+1-(-2)
"To subtract something that isn't there you have to use a zero pair"
Since you are removing negative 2 from positive 1 you have to use a zero pair for 2 because you can't take away what's not there. Once you remove the negative 2 your answer is what you have left, which is positive 3.
(+1)-(-6)=
positive 1 remove negative 6
Standard From
+1--6
+1-(-6)
"To subtract something that isn't there you have to use a zero pair"
Since you are removing negative 6 from positive 1 you have to use a zero pair for 6 because you can't take away what's not there. Once you remove the negative 6 your answer is what you have left, which is positive 7.
(-3)-(+4)=
negative 3 remove positive 4
Standard From
-3-+4
-3-4
"To subtract something that isn't there you have to use a zero pair"
Since you are removing positive 4 from negative 3 you have to use a zero pair for 4 because you can't take away what's not there. Once you remove the positive 4 your answer is what you have left, which is negative 7.

(sorry if the picture is too small)
I divided 2 by 1/4 to get to the answer which is 8.
12.It takes 2 1/2 scoops of flour to make one cake. How many cakes do 15 scoops make?

Mistake
I multiplied 1/8 by 16 instead of dividing 16 by 1/8 so here is my correction

10. Divide
a.) 1 1/12 divided by 2 1/2
You need to turn the mixed numbers into an improper fraction.1 and 1/2 becomes13/12 and 2 and 1/2 becomes 5/2. Since you have to do the reciprocal on the denominator, you multiply 13/12 by 2/5 on the top (numerator). Then simplify your answer if needed.
b.) 8/11 divided by 4/5
Do the reciprocal on the denominator then after you do that step, you put the reciprocal on the denominator and multiply those. Simplify if it is needed, in this case, I simplified it by 4.
c.) 1 3/8 divided by 2 3/4
*Since 2 is a whole number, make it into a fraction by using 1 as a denominator. So it becomes 2 over
12. It takes 2 1/2 scoops of flour to make 1 cake. How many cakes do 15 scoops of flour make? 15 scoops of flour make 6 cakes

My first correction I have to make is the first question, I mistook the question for a division question and did division instead of multiplication. I did the same thing for question 4.
