you need to turn the mixed numbers into an improper fraction. 1 and 1/2 becomes 13/12 and 2 and 1/2 becomes 5/2 . since you have to do the reciprocal on the denominator, you multiply 13/12 by 2/5 on the top numerator. then simplify our answer when you need to.
